How to get there?

From Europe there are lots of cheap flights to Cebu City. Probably also from the rest of the world. There is no point travelling via Manilla. The Emirates are often the fastest. Via Dubai. Cathy Pacific are cheap, but then you have to go via Hong Kong and from Europe that often mean 2 stopovers. Very comfortable airplanes so no problem. Just search from your destination to Cebu City and you will find a lot of different options.

If you arrive Cebu City after 12:00 mid day you better stay one night in Cebu City. There are lots of Pension houses and Hotels to choose from. Nice to shop sunscreen, get cash etc. On Malapascua there are no ATM's. You have to bring enough cash for your stay.

From Cebu City you have several alternatives.

In general the trip from Cebu City to Maya take between 3 and 4 hours. The boat ride take 25 minutes. If you go by public boat you might wait for a long time in Maya for the boat. They are always waiting for more passengers, or they wait until some foreigners don't want to wait anymore and just pay for a private boat :)

Make sure you have some small money when you arrive Maya. To pay for helping you with your luggage and also for transportation from the pier to the boat in a flat boat if it is low tide. Flat boat is typically 20 PhP.
